Therapy with you
Gregory has been a practicing psychotherapist for over 25 years, and he now works predominately in the space of relationships. Whether working with an individual or couple, he believes that in essence we are always working the relationship space, I to myself, I to others. Gregory primarily works from a somatic (body) based perspective; however, he has trained in other modalities including psychoanalysis, REBT, Hakomi, and more recently in relationship modalities such as PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) and is well aligned with the work of Sue Johnson, Esther Perel and Dan Siegel.
While working predominately as a couple’s therapist Gregory has special interest in complex trauma, experiential and body-oriented therapy, parenting, and attachment. Bonding goes from the cradle to the grave, staying close to a protective loved one is the main survival strategy for humans. When working with couples, he explores with them the tension between the need for security (love, belonging and closeness) and the need for freedom (erotic desire, adventure and distance) in their relationship.
Gregory uses and teaches mindful awareness and non-violent communication in his work with couples and works with them to develop the relationships that they want together.
Gregory is a Clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), and a member of Somatic Psychotherapy Association of Australia
